Welcome to The Wady Craft Shop Webiste!

The Wady Craft Shop opened up in May 2003. It is located in Zamalik, a central part of Cairo, just next to the All Saints Cathedral. It is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Egypt.
The shop is a window to the outside world, for many of the different ministries that make up the
Episcopal Diocese of Egypt. The Diocese has several self reliance and aid programs, where different crafts are produced, and then sold in the Wady Craft Shop. These programs include the Tukul Craft Program for Refugees, The Boulaq Centre (a women’s aid program for widows and single mothers), The Deaf School Vocational Training Centre, Shams El Birr (a school for blind people), The Menouf Social Service, The Prison Ministry and several independent producers including both African refugees and Egyptians.
When you buy handcrafts from the Wady Craft Shop you support these projects and the people they are helping.
Many of these projects are located in very remote areas of Egypt, and poor areas of Cairo. The Craft Shop, with its central location, offers a great opportunity for the producers, to have their products marketed, without them having to travel far every day. Also we make sure that our producers are treated fair, and get a good price for their products and an opportunity for a more stable income than they would otherwise be unable to achieve.
